Viva La Lego Vida
Kemarin iseng buka twitter, dan ada twitan dari band dengan salah satu vokalis paling ganteng dan seksi sedunia bernama Chris Martin, Coldplay. Biasanya twitan mereka adalah untuk promosi album mereka yang akan keluar 24 September nanti, Xylo Myloto (eh apa Mylo Xyloto? yah itulah ya pokoknya) dan promosiin single terbaru mereka yang akan keluar 12 September nanti, "paradise". Tapi mereka cuma nulis Viva La Lego, diikuti dengan URL ke youtube. Gw klik, gw pantengin, dan akhirnya keluarlah videoklip Viva La Vida dengan versi lego. Lucu abis...
Gw suka Coldplay. Gw suka Lego. Jadi ngeliat Viva La Lego tuh bikin deg2ser banget.
Dan tadi iseng banget liat facebook. And of my close friend at SHS, Zakia, shared the link of video of Rivers "Weezer" who covered Viva La Vida. Ya ampun, dua hari berturut2 gw dibombardir dengan serangan Viva La Vida, is it a sign? Is it destiny? That I will be with you, Chris Martin? *minta digeplak
Tapi beneran Chris Martin tuh gantengnya keterlaluan. Bukan ganteng ala foto model murahan, tapi sampe auranya juga ganteng. Okay, nuff talking about that cutey dovey guy... Let's talk about the song, Viva La Vida.
Viva La Vida itself means Long Live Life in Spanish. Many speculators said this song is all about the French Revolution because of the following line: "Now the old king is dead, long live the king". It is a line that being shouted when Louis XV was dead and his grandson, Louis XVI should be the king. Even it is a common line for the death of king of monarch, but I don't know why, I always remember the death of Louis XV when I heard this line.
But for a girl who is in love, I guess it is a love song. Well, the meaning of a song could be interpreted by its listeners and their mood, right? *wink
How could this song be interpreted to a love song? Well, I guess the first verse is talking about the life I had before I met that guy, the guy I fall for. When I thought my world is pretty pretty, something fucked up, but still pretty pretty. But when I met him, and fell for him, and saw how he could turn my world upside down, made me realized that my so called happiness was built upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand. And my world is pretty ugly. And the following lines could be translated, from my point of view, that people waiting for the time of despair defeats me:
Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?
And the best line that hurt me a lot, I mean, a lot, is: I know St. Peter won't call my name. Because I know I'm doing whatever it takes just to reach him, and love him, don't give a damn if it's right or wrong. So I know St. Peter won't call my name when he is guarding the Gates of Heaven.
Damn, this song is good... You're genius, totally genius, Coldplay...

Lagu ini asik banget. Baru nemuin lagu ini, belum nyampe sebulan, dan langsung jatuh cintrong. Ear-catching, lirik dan nadanya juga lucu. Dengerin lagu ini pas puasa tuh sensasinya gimana gitu. Setelah berbulan-bulan winamp di HP gw si Spikachu itu penuh dengan lagu dari Glee, (for the record: gw gak suka pokemon, gw cuma suka digimon, itu pun yang pertama doang. Karena ada si Yamato. Ganteng. Cool. Terus kenapa namanya Spikachu Ras? Gpp, lucu aja ngomongnya, pika pikaaa pika pikachuuuu) akhirnya gw putuskan untuk merombak total lagu2 dengan lagu yang baru aja gw denger, atau stok lagu lama yang udah lamaaa banget gak kesentuh.
